Champions league was held on Tuesday where Manchester city lost 2: nil to Barcelona. Pellegrrini was highly critical of the Swedish referee and the question about his fairness during the match.

It was after the match that Pellegrini said quote” on the beginning I felt that the referee was impartial to both teams”. He continues saying that quote” I think it was not good idea to put a referee from Sweden to be in charge of such an important game specially a referee who has a important mistake against Barcelona in a previous match”.

The UEFA said that they have mandated a special inspector for the investigation. Well! That Swedish referee is not the only referee under fire. According to A. Wenger the Arsenal manager, the  officials who referee the game against Bayern decided the outcome of the match by issuing the red card to the Arsenal's and Polish goal keeper. He emphasised that  the referee killed the game, which became very boring and a one way traffic game.

The defending champions Bayern Munich beat 10 –man Arsenal in the champions League last 16 first leg. Pep Guardiola's side remain on course in their bid to become the first side to retain the Champions League as second-half goals from Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller gave them an emphatic advantage in their last-16 first-leg tie
