An hour of well-paced walking can burn as many as 400 calories and research has shown that walking a mere 30-60 minutes a day can help us to lose weight without changing any other part of our daily routine. So why not give it a try?

HEALTH: If you want your healthy living plans to last, don’t be tempted to take the all or nothing approach. If you’re exhausted or short of time, try a more condensed workout rather than skipping the gym entirely. Something is always better than nothing, and you’ll be glad you made the effort.

EXERCISE: Make yourself an exercise chart and tick off activities each time you do them. After 10 ticks, give yourself a prize to reward and motivate yourself; such as new running trainers or gym clothes. If you keep it up for long enough you’ll reap the ultimate reward; a fit and healthy body to be proud of.

NUTRITION: Excluding all your favourite foods from your diet can be demoralising and counterproductive. Moderation is the key so consider using the 80/20 rule; make 80% of your daily intake super healthy and setting aside 20% for whatever you fancy. This way you can easily fit in a slice of cheesecake or a serving of chips without getting off track completely.
